6 ct Cambodian Blue Zircon & Diamond Ring

Write a Review

Don't confuse this amazing gemstone with cubic zirconia, which is synthetic. "Zircon" is a natural gemstone and is one of three gemstones that have a higher dispersion than a diamond (rainbow flash).

It's a hard mineral, so it makes spectacular jewelry! You might notice the gemstone looks blurry in some of the photos and that's because it has 'double refraction' which means the sparkle is doubled as it reflects back to your eyes.

This spectacular Cambodian blue zircon is a beautiful 'Windex' blue color and cut perfectly in a large oval shape that is deep cut for endless sparkle.  We put it in an 8-prong, solid 18K white gold setting we designed that has approximately 4/5 carat of bright, colorless (F color), baguette diamonds on the band and also a diamond basket holding the gemstone for endless sparkle.

This gemstone is AAA because it's a fully saturated blue (please read below about Cambodian zircons).

SOME INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT ZIRCON - Zircon is regarded as the traditional birthstone for December. Zircon is the oldest known stone on earth!!! Much older than diamonds - and just as brilliant. For centuries, people thought these gemstones were actually diamonds. The fiery brilliance of zircon rivals diamonds and any other gemstone. Zircons are double refractive - if you look deeply into the photos, you will see a slight blur or doubling of the facets - it's just one of the things that make this gemstone spectacular!

Blue Zircon is a single source gemstone - from 2 mines in Cambodia. The mines that have produced the Blue variety of Zircons have closed (in 2012). The is minimal material currently being found and the prices of this gemstone are expected to skyrocket, making this a solid investment.

Zircon is one of the heaviest gemstones, which means that it will weigh more than other stones with the same measurements. Zircon is also a hard gemstone - perfect for jewelry! There is a descriptive word in the gem trade for the best gemstones - they are referred to as "Gemmy". This is definitely a 'gemmy' ring!

Natural zircon today suffers on account of the similarity of its name to "cubic zirconia", the laboratory-grown synthetic imitation is NOT related to natural zircon in any way! Many people are unaware that there is a beautiful natural gemstone called Zircon.

This gemstone is natural and is straight from the mines of Cambodia, cut in an almost round cut - a real spectacular gemstone! - and with the double refraction and high dispersion inherent in this gemstone, you won't believe your eyes when you wear it in direct sunlight! Zircons are one of three gemstones that have higher dispersion than diamonds (more flash)!

The wide variety of colors of zircon, its rarity, beauty, and its affordability make it a popular collector's stone and contributes to its growing popularity among jewelry designers and gem lovers.
