What exactly is a Morganite?  Morganites are part of the beryl family, like emeralds, aquamarines and yellow beryls (heliodors).  They are often called 'pink emeralds'.  They have a beautiful, vitreous luster and are usually a peach or peachy pink color.  They are named after J. P. Morgan, and are just spectacular gemstones.  They are hard - 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs' Scale, so they make durable jewelry.
