This is a gorgeous, natural unheated sapphire. We purchased the rough sapphire from the mines in Ceylon (Sri Lanka). The gemstone is exceedingly beautiful, but also rare. It's color is a perfect 'Kashmir' blue and it also is unheated. 99% of all sapphires and rubies are heated to improve clarity and reduce silk inclusions. This gemstone is eye clean and just perfect.
We had it cut in a brilliant oval and set it with 2 round matching unheated royal blue sapphires, separated by 4 large VVS colorless diamonds. We even put diamonds on the basket of the gemstone (our signature design detail).
