The blue sapphire in this pendant is the absolute finest - a perfect 'Kashmir' royal blue, surrounded by clear, bright diamonds in 18K white gold. There is a floating halo of bright sparkling diamonds surrounding this beautiful blue sapphire with 2 larger diamonds on the bail and an 18K white gold chain (18") is included (the chain can be shortened, if you would like).
Very few sapphires come out of the ground perfect and don't need heat treatment to remove silk inclusions and deepen the color... this one is just about perfect. A beautiful blue, and what we call a "roval" - cut in a beautiful pear shape that faces up like a 6 carat sapphire as it isn't deeply cut, it is actually 2.8 carats, making it more affordable. Unheated royal blue sapphires of this quality can command upwards of $8,000. per carat. We loved the cut on this sapphire so much that we kept the back open, for a perfectly beautiful, unusual designer setting. It was mined in Ratnapura, Sri Lanka.
This is a very feminine, very sparkly, very 'California Girl' pendant. Sunglasses optional.
