Emerald & Diamond Pendant

The cut of this emerald is very unusual - a cabochon (without facet) briolette (long rounded pear) cut. The top is drilled, and our pendant design threads a gold bar through the gemstone for security without prongs/bezels and that allows swivel movement. 

We set this large transparent emerald gemstone in an inverted 'Y' custom setting with 18K white gold with round diamonds. This emerald moves in its setting and articulates as you move. Included is an 18K white gold 18" chain.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT EMERALDS:

Emeralds are in the beryl family of gemstones, with Morganites, Aquamarines, Goshenites, Heliodors, etc. as siblings. Emeralds are classified as a Type III gemstone - meaning inclusions are common and don't detract significantly from the value of transparent gemstones. The factors when appraising emeralds are the color (primary factor), clarity, size and cut. The color of this emerald is perfect - a natural, well-saturated bluish green. This emerald is also transparent - light passes easily through the gemstone. 

Clarity of all colored gemstones is determined using the naked eye, as opposed to grading diamonds which is determined by using a 10x loupe. This emerald's color and clarity are superb.
