Some interesting facts about Imperial Topaz gemstones:

Imperial Topaz, with its distinct colors of peach, pink, orange, bronze or champagne, is the rarest topaz variety, all natural (no treatment) and one of the most sought-after gemstones. The primary source is the Ouro Preto mines of Minas Gerais, Brazil, which is where this gemstone was mined. Deposits were also found in the Ural Mountains in Russia, and we also have some of the last remaining stock from Russia, as it's all mined out. Imperial topaz was named in honor of the Russian monarchy who prized its luxurious golden-sherry hues. Today, imperial topaz is classified as a very rare collector's gem. While blue topaz is usually irradiated and inexpensive, genuine imperial topaz is not irradiated and can get very expensive, depending upon the quality of the gemstone, and its size.
