Blue Zircon is a single source gemstone from 2 mines in Cambodia. The mines that have produced the Blue variety of zircons have closed (in 2012). The is minimal material currently being found and the prices of this gemstone are expected to rise, making this a solid investment.
Zircon is one of the heaviest gemstones, which means that it will weigh more than other stones with the same measurements. Zircon is also a hard gemstone - perfect for jewelry. Natural zircon today suffers on account of the similarity of its name to "cubic zirconia", the laboratory-grown synthetic imitation is NOT related to natural zircon.
